Quantum Algorithms Database
1994
Shor's Algorithm
Factors large numbers exponentially faster than any known classical algorithm, threatening RSA encryption.
1996
Grover's Algorithm
Searches unsorted data in roughly √N steps instead of N, using amplitude amplification.
1992
Deutsch-Jozsa Algorithm
The first algorithm to prove a quantum computer could solve a problem exponentially faster than any classical deterministic algorithm.
1994
Simon's Algorithm
Finds a hidden pattern (period) in a function exponentially faster than classical methods, directly inspiring Shor's Algorithm.

Quantum Dictionary
Qubit
The basic unit of quantum information, capable of existing in a superposition of 0 and 1.
Entanglement
A quantum phenomenon where two or more qubits become linked, so the state of one instantly correlates with the state of another.
Superposition
The quantum principle that a qubit can exist in a combination of 0 and 1 simultaneously, until it is measured.
Quantum Gate
A basic operation applied to qubits that transforms their quantum state — the quantum equivalent of a classical logic gate.
Bloch Sphere
A geometric representation of a single qubit's state as a point on the surface of a sphere.
Decoherence
The process by which a qubit loses its quantum properties through unwanted interactions with its environment.
